In most cases, blood tests can be safely done at home or in the paddock. Some animals may require a mild sedative given before the vet comes, but most are fine without. Dr Rosan uses all skills and techniques to make the experience as low-stress as possible and will guide you as an owner on how you could help creating this environment. All blood samples are sent off to a veterinary, accredited external laboratory for analysis.
This same lab is used for pathology, cytology, urinalysis, etc.
If you have found a lump or bump on your animal, it is recommended to get it checked by a vet. Dr Rosan may advise to take a sample from it to either test it in-house or send it off to the external lab for pathologist’s interpretation.
